High Court Judge Mr Justice Tracey has ruled that a 14-year-old boy from the City has the right to seek a Judicial Review into the use of his image in newspapers and leaflets.

High Court Judge Mr Justice Treacy has ruled that a 14-year-old boy from the City has the right to seek a Judicial Review into the use of his image in newspapers and leaflets.

The teenager alleges that the publication of his picture breached his right to privacy and a full application for judicial review will now be heard in December.

The photographs were published as part of the PSNI's Operation Exposure, which involves the publication of photos of those suspected of involvement in interface crime and sectarian clashes in the City.

Lawyers for the teenager, who cannot be identified, will also seek an undertaking from the PSNI that the disputed operation will be put on hold until the challenge is decided.
