Hayley’s caring charity work for community
She truly understands what it means to live with ongoing health conditions and is aware that these conditions make her particularly vulnerable to stroke and heart disease.
With her health history in mind, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke became Hayley’s charity of choice. When her mother-in-law, Christine, sadly passed away in 2019, the family requested donations to NICHS in lieu of flowers. Hayley has been a passionate ambassador for the charity ever since.

During lockdown, Hayley instigated a social enterprise, ‘Cors’a Can’, with the aim of providing support services to her local Coleraine community.
Named after Hayley’s can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit, Cors’a Can (Course I Can) services include drop-in visits to the elderly, cleaning and ironing, and gift-items like hampers and jewellery. Hayley only asks for enough to cover her costs and, with every item she sells, she donates a percentage of the profit straight back to NICHS.
“It’s not about making a profit, it’s about supporting the charity. Plus trying to keep people’s spirits up and trying to do something nice for people. It’s about brightening people’s day and giving them a ‘that really made me smile’ moment.”
