String of burglaries in Lisburn area may be linked say detectives

One man, aged 32, has been arrested in relation to the police probes. Sometime between 5pm on Monday and 8:45am on Tuesday entry was gained to a property at the Tullyard Road area of Lisburn and a grey Toyota Rav4 parked nearby was stolen. Sometime between 8:30pm on Monday and 9:25am on Tuesday, it was reported that entry was gained to a house at the Lisdoonan Road area of Carryduff and a green Nissan Terrano was taken. The Nissan Terrano was later found abandoned at the Bresagh Road area of Lisburn on Tuesday, and the Toyota Rav4 remains outstanding at this time. It was reported that sometime between 9pm on Monday and 9am on Tuesday, entry was gained to an outhouse and a vehicle parked at the Bresagh Road area of Lisburn. At around 11:40pm on Monday entry was gained by two men to a garage in the Comber Road area of Carryduff, and a set of headphones were taken. One of the men is described as being 5”5 in height, slim build with short dark hair. He is described as wearing a black face mask, a blue coloured running style jacket and armed with a crowbar. The second male is described as being 5”7 in height and wearing dark coloured clothing. The men made off from the scene on foot following the incident. It is believed that three vehicles parked at the Tullyard Road area of Lisburn were entered sometime between 1:30am and 9am on Tuesday, but it is not believed that anything was taken. Finally at around 2:45am on Tuesday it was reported that entry was gained to a house at the Ulster Cottages area of Lisburn and that a green Jaguar XJS and a black VW Golf parked in the area were stolen during the incident. The VW Golf was located at the Temple roundabout near to the Ballygannon Road area, with the Jaguar XJS also recovered at the Lisnode Road area of Lisburn. A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary, driving whilst unfit, dangerous driving and breach of bail conditions. He is currently in police custody at this time.
