Motorway service station applications deferred
The applications, which date back to 1999, could see the erection of motorway services to include filling station, forecourt service shop, car wash, cafe/restaurant, rest and WC facilities, associated carparking and amenity area on either side of the M1, one at Sandy lane and one at Bracken Bank.
Over the years residents have mounted a strong campaign opposing the scheme. This month the Planning Service granted approval for the development.

Hide AdHowever, following a request from Lisburn City Council at a meeting of the Planning Committee, the applications were deferred.
The Planning Officer who attended the meeting of Lisburn City Council's Planning Committee agreed to defer the applications and hold an office meeting to further discuss the proposals due to the "unique circumstances" surrounding the applications.
