Hide AdCllr Hughes said, “Having highlighted the poor condition of the road surface along this stretch of the Killeenan Road with the department some time ago, I welcome the start of the resurfacing work.
“When completed this will greatly improve the strength and quality of the road surface and enhance safety for all road users.
“There will be some disruption during this time with the Killeenan Road closed to
through traffic, between the Drum Road and the Loughdoo Road, for the
duration of the works.

“I will continue to work with the department to ensure that any disruption is kept to a minimum and the resurfacing is completed as quickly as possible.
“The roads network is an important lifeline for rural communities and is essential for the success of our local economy.
“The SDLP will continue to argue for a properly resourced road maintenance programme to ensure that the rural roads network is maintained to the highest possible standard.”
