A leading welfare rights law firm has presented the Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees (AVID) with a cheque for £101.06

The sum was raised by Carlin Solicitors through a street collection.The solicitors have thanked everyone who contributed and say that they are delighted to help raise awareness and funds for AVID which has sought since 1994 to ensure detainees’ rights are protected regardless of age, faith or background.

Carlin Solicitors are members of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association (ILPA). They work closely with the Law Centre (NI) and AVID to “promote the welfare rights and human dignity of immigration detainees”.
