In an update, Inspector Donna Bowden said: “Our latest enquiries lead us to believe that the articles found on the Ballywillan Road at the weekend may have come from a medical box that someone lost or inadvertently discarded. “The syringes were capped/unused and the vials said ‘water for injections’. “The syringes were found by a regular cyclist from the area so we believe they weren’t lying there for too long before being discovered. “We are grateful to the cyclist for his prompt reporting on this matter.”
